Katia Lopez is a first-gen, Chicana, lifelong resident of the Coachella Valley (currently residing in the beautiful City of Coachella). Having grown up in a low-income and mixed status family, helped ignite her passion to serve and uplift all communities facing health and educational barriers.
She received her B.A in Anthropology and Political Science in 2017 from the University of California, Irvine. Upon graduating UC Irvine, she returned home and began interning for Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia. Since her internship days, she has continued serving the community, first as a Health Navigator for a Federally Qualified Health Center, Clínicas de Salud del Pueblo, then as a COVID-19 Contact Tracer for the Riverside County Public Health Department.
